Wilderness Wanderings and Worthiness
We are not worthy, He is, and we want to praise Him | Random Thoughts | Jesus Christ | Christianity

If you’re a not-yet follower of Jesus Christ, please come along on this journey with us. You are welcome here.
And, I invite you to read my series on the book “What Does God Want?”.
To God Be All the Glory
Friday, day and evening, the hubs and I teared up a few times. Our hearts are filled with amazement that’s morphing into joy. I’m not going to share the details on why we’re feeling this way because I want to focus solely on God.
After years wandering on our wilderness journey, it appears He’s restoring the years the locusts have eaten. I’m tearing up as I type this, for He’s an amazing God.
Joel 2:25-26 (BSB)
25 “Then I will make up to you for the years
That the swarming locust has eaten,
The creeping locust, the stripping locust and the gnawing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.26 “You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied
And praise the name of the LORD your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
Then My people will never be put to shame.
Lessons in the Wilderness
In our wilderness journey, we’ve learned to slow down, listen for His voice, wait for His guidance, and ask for His will to be done over ours. It’s been a humbling journey, one that—apparently—we needed. Especially me, the “Type A” personality with a project manager’s mindset. I had to learn to “let go and let God” (the best project manager in the universe).
We learned that God had kingdom assignments for us regarding specific people He brought into our lives for a specific purpose. We’ll always look back on how God used us in one person’s life to save that person from potential suicide.
We also know that as we move forward into God’s new adventure for us, He’ll give us new kingdom assignments with, again, very specific people in mind.
As I type this, all I want to do is magnify Him and His great name. We’re praying that we’ll not only hold on tight to the lessons, but that we’ll continue to grow as He leads us.
Please, dear readers, grow with us in applying, living out, these lessons:
Slow down
Listen for God’s voice
Wait for His guidance
Ask for His will to be done over your will, your desires
Wait for His guidance.
As we take baby steps on this new journey, we’re applying the lessons learned. We’re now watching God work, open doors, and make almost impossible things possible. Over the years, Abba heard every prayer, He captured and held onto every tear, and we’re amazed as we watch His new plan roll out before us.
And, all the glory goes to Him. We are not worthy, He certainly is, and He’s taking great delight in opening new doors for us. We feel His joy as He provides us with what’s needed right now. And we look forward to what He’ll provide in the future. He made us in His image, He redeemed us, He cherishes us, He’s made us His possession, He’s poured out His love for us, and all the glory goes to our Lord God.
Ephesians 1:13-14 (BSB)
13 And in Him, having heard and believed the word of truth—the gospel of your salvation—you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the pledge of our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession, to the praise of His glory.
For those of you still on your wilderness journey, stand firm. Pour your heart out to your Abba. Surrender all. Listen for His voice, wait for His guidance, and ask Jesus to rebuke your spiritual enemy for we all are in full-blown spiritual warfare. Don’t listen to the enemy’s ugly lies. Embrace Your Abba who loves you more than you could ever imagine, and hang on.
He’s promised to bring us all home, one day, and He will.
And that homecoming will be absolutely glorious!
Maranatha, come (again) Lord Jesus.
Soli Deo Gloria!

An awesome word, Jenise! Slow, Listen, Wait & Ask. Never has the world moved so fast, and God's strategy is the slow listen. Thanks for this and great what is happening for you both in this season.
GOD bless you, Mark and Jenise.
"May the LORD cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you." Numbers 6:25 BSB
"Wandering in the wilderness"
14:3-4 "For Pharaoh will say of the Israelites, 'They are wandering the land in confusion; the wilderness has boxed them in.' And I will harden Pharaoh's heart so that he will pursue them. But I will gain honor by means of Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD." So this is what the Israelites did." Exodus 14:1-31 BSB Note: read the complete chapter for a better understanding.
It would appear to the Pharaoh of Egypt that the Israelites were wandering the land in confusion and that the wilderness had boxed them in, having nowhere else to go. Yes, the Pharaoh thought they would surely be trapped, with no possible way for them to escape.
But for the ruler of Egypt and his army, they would quickly learn that this wasn't what would happen. What appeared to be the impossible would soon turn into the possible because the LORD had made a plan to deliver His people in a way that no one could have ever imagined. The LORD's people would be taking a journey right through the middle of the Red Sea. There was a way out for them that only the GOD of Israel could provide. The LORD would save His people from harm and give them a future as He had promised.
"I will surely be with you," God said, "and this will be the sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, all of you will worship God on this mountain." Exodus 3:12 BSB
"Trust in the LORD above all else."
LORD, only You can save us now and forever. Yes, LORD, You will provide a way to deliver us from our problems. LORD, what seems impossible to us is possible for You, so help us all to trust in You above all else and believe that You are ready and able to rescue us in our time of need.
"But Moses told the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the LORD's salvation, which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." Exodus 14:13-14 BSB
GOD bless you all!
