Happy Resurrection Sunday!
Rejoice! You are forgiven! | Resurrection Sunday 2025 | Easter 2025 | Jesus Christ | Christianity
Christ Has Risen, He Has Risen Indeed!
Dear fellow Jesus followers, the Son of God is alive! Father God raised Him from the grave!
As I’ve thought about today, my heart has filled with a few songs to share with you from YouTube.
Near the end, you’ll find links to my 2024 and 2023 Resurrection Sunday posts. Night Owl Christian has many new Followers and Subscribers who have joined us in the past few months (welcome!). New readers may enjoy those previous posts.
Happy Easter! Happy Resurrection Sunday!
Let Us Worship Our Risen King
Don’s praise songs have led many over the years in worship to our risen King Jesus.
Bill & Gloria Gaither - He's Alive [Live] ft. Don Francisco [4 mins 57 secs]
I was a teenager and a new believer when this next song hit the local Christian radio stations. My tradition is to wake up early on Easter morn and play this song.
The 2nd Chapter Of Acts - The Easter Song (1974) [2 mins 27 secs]
This song is precious to me because Abba, Father God, used it in my life at a significant time.
Because He Lives (Official Music Video) | Celtic Worship [5 mins 19 secs]
This one is a very traditional hymn that still opens many Easter services in churches around the English-speaking world.
"Christ the Lord Is Risen Today" - The Village Chapel Worship [3 mins 16 secs]
Now, this one will be a bit different for some of you. Sacred harp singing, also called “shape note signing”, is an a capella and American Protestant form of singing often heard in the American South. In this video, we hear the hymn “I Know that My Redeemer Lives”, and the words are powerful! The group warms up and then the hymn begins at the 46-second mark.
277 Antioch - Second Ireland Sacred Harp Convention, 2012 [2 mins 11 secs]
Lyrics
1 I know that my Redeemer lives, glory, hallelujah!
What comfort this sweet sentence gives, glory, hallelujah!
Refrain:
Shout on, pray on, we’re gaining ground, glory, hallelujah!
The dead’s alive and the lost is found, glory, hallelujah!
2 He lives to crush the fiends of hell, glory, hallelujah!
He lives, within my heart to dwell, glory, hallelujah! [Refrain]
3 He lives, my hungry soul to feed, glory, hallelujah!
He lives to help in time of need, glory, hallelujah! [Refrain]
4 He lives, all glory to his name, glory, hallelujah!
He lives, my Savior, still the same, glory, hallelujah! [Refrain]
5 He lives, triumphant from the grave, glory, hallelujah!
he lives, eternally to save! [Refrain]
6 He lives to heal and make me whole, glory, hallelujah!
he lives to guard my troubled soul. [Refrain]
7 He lives, and grants me daily breath, glory, hallelujah!
he lives and I shall conquer death! [Refrain]
And, then there’s the “Hallelujah” chorus from Handel’s “Messiah”.
Royal Choral Society: 'Hallelujah Chorus' from Handel's Messiah

Thank you so much for the music shared here. Very uplifting!
This is one of my favorite parts of Easter services is hearing the lovely music. I have asked my husband to join me at church later on today and he is going. This little church has a small orchestra and a stunningly talented choir on a regular basis, so I can't wait to hear them blow us away with their special music today. I'm so blessed!
