Thank you, Jenise, for your excellent critique of what the Gospel is. Simple and to the point, your words speak loudly. This letter is priceless!

"God's good news is based solely on His love, mercy, and grace. Period. That's what the Gospel is." Jenise Cook

The Good News

"The Gospel is transparently honest. It tells you the truth even though it hurts. That shows love. Lying to you isn't love."

Page 59, "What Does God Want?" Dr. Michael S. Heiser.

My simple thoughts. . .

I just finished writing something about the Sanctity of Life in the comments of Sherri Tenpenny's Sunday letter. "The Cry of the Innocent"

'Is abortion modern-day child sacrifice?"

YES! It is still an abomination, WHY?

I quickly saw the connection and realized that--

The Gospel is also about the sanctity of Life.

"Who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:4 NIV

"The Gospel" We are all sinners. We can't save ourselves. Only JESUS can.

It's not hard to understand why most of Humanity no longer wants to seek the meaning of Life because it has taken GOD out of the picture and, as a tragic result, can no longer discern between good and evil.

By eliminating GOD altogether, Humanity has destroyed the only reference point for good, which is only (GOD.) Without understanding their sinful condition, they will persist in their blindness and eventually suffer the consequences for their actions, being eternally condemned to hell in the final judgment. (Rev 20:11-15) There are consequences for sin. And we need to make that known to them.

Unless a person realizes they are a sinner and unworthy of GOD's grace and mercy and acknowledges they are in a lost, hopeless place without JESUS, there will be no cause for repentance."

The Gospel is Perfect. We can't add to it or subtract from it.

"God's good news is based solely on His love, mercy, and grace. Period. That's what the Gospel is." Jenise Cook

"The Gospel" We are all sinners. We can't save ourselves. Only JESUS can.

The Holy SPIRIT will convict them.

"And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God's righteousness, and of the coming judgment." John 16:8 NLT.

It is the work of the Holy Spirit to convict the World of their sinful condition.

The FATHER will draw them in.

"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day." John 6:44 NIV

And JESUS will save them.

And everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal Life. JESUS will raise them up on the last day.

"For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day." John 6:40 NIV

The Glad tidings (The Gospel)

"And how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:15 NLT

And we are called to bring them the glad tidings of good things! The Gospel.

"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 NIV

And the last thing I will say, but most important. We are to point the way to JESUS. This is our mission.

"He is the Gospel." Praise the LORD!
