Update: 2 April 2024 - I’ve learned about these three (3) tools from biblical scholars and other “Bible nerds”. Warning, exploring these three sites could absorb several hours of your time. When I get a chance, I’ll add them to my post with any relevant screen shots.

Equipment for the “Deep Dive”
Hello, dear readers! Guess what? NOC fell asleep very early last night, and didn’t schedule this post to publish on time. Sometimes that happens to night owls. 😂🤣😂
Last Saturday night, after I selected the button that published my Easter 2023 Part 2 post, a “little voice” whispered to me: “How are some people going to study the verses you listed, and do a “deep dive”, if they aren’t sure how to do that?”
Conviction. 😪
Dear readers, I hope my words didn’t cause any frustration. If they did, I apologize.
There’s good news. We all can learn to study God’s word by doing a “deep dive”. Just as scuba divers use equipment to explore the oceans’ depths, we can use “equipment”, Bible study tools to explore the riches, the depths, of God’s word.
In this post I’ll list a couple of tools I use to study the Bible more deeply. The majority of the tools I’ll mention are free and online.
Online Bible Study Tools
These are the primary tools I use when I’m on my laptop and I have access to an internet connection. Each of these tools also has a mobile app. On your phone or your tablet, go to the Apple Store or to Google Play, and type in the names to download the apps to your mobile devices.
Bible Gateway
I use Bible Gateway to research by:
the name of the book (Ephesians),
the chapter (6), and
the verses (10-20).
One thing I absolutely love about Bible Gateway is I can look up one verse (Ephesians 6:10) and then select a link to see that one verse in many English translations. See the screen shot below:
Blue Letter Bible
This tool makes it easy to access:
Interlinear
Bible translations
Cross-references
Commentaries - one of the best features
Dictionaries
Miscellaneous - maps, charts music, and more
Warning: It’s easy to “geek out” on the wide variety of tools offered by Blue Letter Bible. For example, for you true “Bible Nerds”, you can look up Ephesians 6:10 in the LXX, and then do a Reverse Interlinear to English. 🙌🏻
Bible Hub
Bible Hub has become my “go to” tool. It has features similar to Blue Letter Bible. What’s nice is when you enter just one verse (Ephesians 6:10), on one webpage you’ll see:
Context
Cross-references
Commentaries
Koinē Greek
I also enjoy the feature called “Parallel”. This feature displays two English translations side by side.
BibleProject
I also recommend BibleProject.com which has many online resources. They also have a free app you can download to your phone and/or tablet, plus two channels on YouTube:
Logos Bible Software
Oh boy, this tool is powerful. And, I can lose myself in it for an entire day, if I don’t set a timer. As of this post, Logos Version 9 is the free version, and that’s what I use as I have a very limited household budget. However, there are still many, many features available in Version 9. I won’t list them all, here. Visit Logos by selecting the link above, and have fun exploring.

Today’s Affirmation
John 14:25-27 (ESV)
25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
Meditate on these verses this week, dear readers. And, in these verses is a hint of the new series to begin next Sunday! 😊
Maranatha, come (again) Lord Jesus.
Soli Deo Gloria!
