Here's a New Year's Resolution for You

How about Reading through the Bible in a Year?
Yes, you can! I believe in you. How about making this your resolution in the new year 2024? Lord knows we all can benefit from more of God’s word in our lives, right?
Next week, I’ll tell you my story on why it’s important to prepare ourselves for 2024 by hiding God’s word in our heart.
Pray about reading through the Bible in 2024 as you unwind from recent Christmas and New Years celebrations.
Or, just do it; begin on January 1st.
Tomorrow.
If I can read through the Bible, despite my undiagnosed ADHD (me: “Squirrel! Bright, shiny objects!), you too can read through the Bible in a year (or a bit longer).
Choosing a Plan
There are many wonderful plans out there in the Bible study world; how do you choose one? You can:
Ask for recommendations from a Christ follower who has read through the Bible.
Go online to Christian Books (christianbooks.com) and search for a devotional book designed to help you read through the Bible in a year. The good news is at this time of the year you may find the book of your choice at a discounted price. Let me help you: Select this link through the Bible in a year.
Choose a free devotional among the many free options on YouVersion’s Bible app. (See the screenshot of their Home page:)
Download their mobile app or register and log in to their website and search the Plans section for Bible in a year plans (<— select the link).
Or…you can:
Start with the BibeProject plan on YouVersion’s Bible app called “One Story that Leads to Jesus”.
This is the plan I chose, and I’ve enjoyed it very much. Let’s dive in a little deeper.
One Story that Leads to Jesus
First, I’ll introduce the plan and then I’ll tell you why I like it.
Description of this Free Plan
“One Story that Leads to Jesus is a plan designed by BibleProject to inspire and equip you to read through the entire Bible in one year. This plan incorporates over 150 animated videos to engage you in the Bible’s brilliant literary design and flow of thought. Choose this one-year reading plan for an epic learning journey that helps you experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus.”
What I Like about this Plan
Brief Daily Readings
Each day’s reading has anywhere from two to three chapters of the book under study. If the book’s chapters are short, there may be four chapters to read that day, but the average number of daily chapters is two. I can easily fit this reading plan into my schedule, and I choose to read in the quiet, early morning hours with my coffee or tea at hand.
Psalms
I also appreciate that each day’s reading ends with one of the Psalms. Instead of having readers read through Psalms as an individual book, the plan distributes one Psalm each day. When I read the Psalm for the day, I can better focus on the words and the Holy Spirit draws me into worship. I like this approach versus reading multiple Psalms in one sitting.
Videos
Last but definitely not least, I very much enjoy the brief animated videos that the plan spreads out within each book (no daily videos). I feel I’m benefiting from free, mini-seminary courses that have biblical-scholar content that’s designed for everyone. The videos the BibleProject produces are top quality.
Conclusion
If you don’t have time to research a plan so you can start on January 1st, I do recommend this plan. And, my “discerning” husband enjoyed this plan very much. (Hello, dear! 😎 Lol.)

I started The Bible Recap this year. It is a chronological Bible reading plan, which is fascinating! It has really made the Bible come together for me more.
“What is the meaning of life?”
One Story that Leads to Jesus
John 5:39-40 ESV "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life, and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life."
Search
the Scriptures
eternal life
they that bear witness about me.
Come to me (JESUS)
you may have life.
“What is the meaning of life?”
Many are searching for the answer to the meaning of life, the one we live here and now, not knowing this is just the beginning. There is a search just waiting for everyone that is much more profound because the answer transcends this momentary existence.
There's a life that will last forever. The scriptures lead everyone on a quest, reaching beyond the here and now. From start to finish, the Bible points the way to JESUS because He's the only One who has this life that completes the search. The life He gives will last forever, eternal.
“What is the meaning of life?” Discovering JESUS answers that question, forever ending the search for life's meaning.
"However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will. And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day." John 6:37-39 NLT
GOD bless you all!
